Franziska van Almsick

Franziska van Almsick is one of Germany's most popular and best-known sports personalities. The legend swam her way into the hearts of the spectators at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona at the age of just 14.

All in all, the likeable swimmer won four Olympic silver medals and six Olympic bronze medals. She can also call several world and European championship titles her own.

Van Almsick is happy to use her celebrity and popularity to support top-class and popular sport. Among other things, she is active in the German Sports Aid Foundation and was an ambassador for the FIFA Women's Football Team during the 2011 World Cup.

Experienced and confident, through many competitions around the world and despite the media hype, Franziska Van Almsick has retained her authentic and natural nature and is thus characterised by a strong personality as the perfect advertising face for German top-class sport.

As a mother of two children and children's book author, the well-being of the youngest members of our society is very close to her heart. She is an ambassador for important charitable organisations such as "Laureus", "Tribute To Bambi", an activist for "Ein Herz für Kinder" and patron of the "Heidelberger Kids auf Schwimmkurs" as well as a campaign ambassador for Pampers/Unicef.
She has since founded her own organisation "Schwimmkids e.V." with the aim of giving children across Germany the opportunity to learn to swim properly.
