A hobby DJ usually has a first main job and does DJ-ing on the side because he enjoys it and is looking for a bit of variety. They prefer to play the music that they like and that they can play. Technically, he certainly has a few "tricks" up his sleeve, and he will also charge lower fees. However, he will never have the same expertise and experience as a professional DJ who has been in the business for many years and knows what is important at the various events and is also willing and able to cater to the necessary needs of the customer and the guests.
