Dance & percussion show
"Sheketak - Rhythm In Motion" is an energetic, virtuoso and humorous multimedia performance that combines elements of dance, theatre, live music and video art.
On a stage with a three-storey scaffolding and a live band, the musicians and dancers perform rapidly changing combinations of rhythmic musical numbers, different dance styles and interactive video recordings.
"Sheketak - Rhythm In Motion" is impossible to pigeonhole. Sometimes you can watch the dancers drumming on their bodies, using sticks and props such as pots and pens to produce sounds as they move across the stage, then there is a freestyle choreography with modern hip-hop elements that takes up the whole stage and is accompanied only by the sounds of the dancers' breathing.
The show is a journey into the world of sounds and visual impressions: It begins with a simple yet highly complex number of movement and body percussion and ends with a massive soundscape of illuminated high-tech drums, video clips, hip-hop performances and breakdancing interludes.
The show utilises special lighting effects, sound design and interactive video clips. At times the video screen serves as a white projection surface for shadow plays, at other times it becomes an instrument for the dancers, who touch it to create sounds and images.
The various dance styles in the show range from body percussion and tap dance to modern freestyle interludes, hip-hop and breakdancing.
Mime interludes convey the international language of humour to the audience.
The live band (drums, bass, keyboard) accompanies the performance with its own musical numbers and an intense and exciting sound.
"Sheketak - Rhythm in Motion" offers something for everyone - young people and the young at heart will love the humorous interludes and the energetic dance numbers, the experienced theatre audience will appreciate the new ideas and the mixture of so many different elements, which show the full radiance of a live performance in an impressive way!
