In Seoul, Christian Schenk scored 8488 points in the decathlon - his 2.27 metres are unrivalled in the high jump. In 1990, he won bronze at the European Championships in Split and came third at the 1991 World Championships. At the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993, he increased his score to 8,500 points and ended his career after a sports accident.
Today, he passes on his experience and knowledge in the fields of education and sport as an education manager just as successfully as he once did as a decathlete.
The graduate publicist, who worked in the ZDF sports editorial office in Mainz in the early 1990s, runs his agency for education and sport in Potsdam. His work focuses on the national education programme "ERKENNE DEINE STÄRKEN" (Recognise your strengths) for career and study guidance.
