Television presenter
Guido Maria Kretschmer started out as a fashion designer on Ibiza with a spartan stall at the popular hippy market. It was there that he was discovered by Udo Lindenberg, who gave the fashion designer his first major commission: Guido is allowed to make brocade jackets for Lindenberg's tour. In 1987, he founded the company "GMK by pepper" in Münster and Palma de Mallorca as well as the fashion label "Guido Maria Kretschmer Corporate Fashion".
Initially with three employees, Guido Maria Kretschmer designs uniforms for large companies: His first major commission was to outfit the crew members of "Hapag Lloyd". Later, he also created workwear for "Deutsche Telekom", "Hotel Kempinski", "Hotel Maritim", "Montblanc" and "Emirates Airline". Having also produced two and a half million suits for "TUI", Guido is now one of the most successful corporate fashion designers in Europe.
In 2004, Guido Maria Kretschmer founded the label "Guido Maria Couture". In 2005, the designer presents his creations at the "Berlin Fashion Week". Theatres and film production companies also became aware of the popular designer and Guido was able to design the costumes for the production of "The Barber of Seville" at the "Deutsche Oper Berlin". He designed the clothes for the films "Meine schöne Bescherung" and "Rubbeldiekatz" and also took on small guest roles.
Guido Maria Kretschmer owes his greatest success to his programme "Shopping Queen", where he comments on the candidates' outfits with amusing commentary. He was nominated for the "German Television Award" for this programme in 2013, but came away empty-handed. In autumn 2013, the designer sits alongside Dieter Bohlen and co. on the jury of "Das Supertalent". He also makes a name for himself as an author: his book "Anziehungskraft - Stil kennt keine Größe" storms the bestseller list.
2014 continues just as successfully for Guido Maria Kretschmer. He can look forward to a "Golden Camera" in the "Best Entertainment" category. A year later, he is also back on TV with shows such as "Germany's Most Beautiful Woman" and "Skilfully Threaded - Who Sews Best".
