Rope Theatre

The piece entitled "Folivórus" is a theatrical balancing act on a tightrope. A bizarrely funny figure moves between attraction and weightlessness. The way up the slack rope is both funny and touching. An exciting game with balance, opposing poles and skilful tricks. A dance on the rope full of enchanting artistry and clownish moments. In the performances of rope theatre, Hampe skilfully combines circus techniques with clownish movement theatre.

In 1998, Thamar Hampe completed her professional artistic training at the Brussels Circus School (Ecole Nationale des Arts Du Cirque, now E.S.A.C.). There she specialised in slack rope artistry and later in aerial acrobatics and vertical rope.
Today she works under the name "rope theatre" as a freelance variety artist, tightrope walker, aerial acrobat and performer in the field of movement and puppet theatre.
