Quartet
20 years of virtuosity, humour & global success:
For two decades, Salut Salon have been able to captivate audiences like no other formation - irrevocably, from the very first note. With virtuosic joy of playing and sparkling humour, artistic instrumental acrobatics and enchanting charm, Angelika Bachmann (violin), Meta Hüper (violin), Heike Schuch (cello) and Kristiina Rokashevich (piano) transport entire concert halls into a world of their own, into surprising, unfamiliar, utterly magical realms of music. Because whatever can be combined with the classical music they love so much, the four musicians combine it: from tango and chanson to folk and film music, from singing saws and poetic puppetry to Vivaldi with kung fu. As confident as they are self-deprecating, Salut Salon go beyond the confines of classical concerts. What's more, they amaze lovers of this music - as well as people who would otherwise never set foot in a concert hall in the first place.
There is hardly any comparison for the success of Salut Salon: the quartet has collected numerous awards, including an ECHO in the category "Classical Music without Borders". The instrumental-acrobatic adaptation of Vivaldi's "Summer" - "Wettstreit zu viert" went viral and now has more than 38 million views on YouTube. Above all, however, Salut Salon tours all over the world, through Europe, Israel, the USA, China, Kenya, Korea and South America - always including moderation in the respective national language.
The combination of musical sophistication, instrumental perfection and a humorous break with style strikes a chord with audiences across countries and cultures. Presumably because this combination is unexpected, unusual, perhaps even unheard of in the world of classical music.
