String orchestra
The ensemble
The Laubenheim Chamber Music Ensemble (KAMEL) consists of young musicians who are former or current members of renowned orchestras (e.g. the German National Youth Orchestra or the German Philharmonic String Orchestra), music students or professional musicians. With over 80 concerts a year at home and abroad, the ensemble can draw on many years of experience and a broad repertoire that is constantly expanding.
Concert tours have taken KAMEL throughout Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Bulgaria, Liechtenstein and Sweden. In 2019, the ensemble was given the honour of performing at the 22nd International Music Festival in Kuwait City at the invitation of the National Council of Culture, Literature and Arts in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office, representing Germany. This was followed in 2022 by an impressive concert tour to Namibia.
Johannes Christ's arrangements of well-known and unknown melodies from classical music to today's charts, specially arranged for KAMEL, are particularly popular. Special musical requests of any kind are gladly realised.
KAMEL conveys youthful vigour on stage and reflects this in its interpretations.
