Lush brass sections and a strong rhythm section create an energetic sound.
Tätärä offers an adventurous style cocktail of rock, pop, jazz, beat, groove, swing, funk, punk and classical music. The impression of organised chaos is a concept.

Tätärä is the brainchild of Anselm Kluge (AK) A first meeting of musician friends took place on 8 December 87 at Café Klatsch in Hamburg's Karolinenviertel. Udo Dahmen (now head of the Popakademie Mannheim), Volker Griepenstroh (now Theatermensch), Jan Krüger (now Werbemafia) and Doris S. (now Doris D.) AK had set cartoons to music for Sesame Street and wanted to try out this kind of slapstick music live. Right from the start, the motto was: the music should be playable for people who are fun to be with even after the performance, i.e. away from profiles who are just hoping to get off work. The first real job: the harbour birthday on 08.05.88. With more than 30 musicians, they drew a crowd of people behind them, who enjoyed the chaos they caused in the marching order of the marching bands (this is what they had been hired for). It was at the Schleswig-Holstein Festival that contact was made with Sigi Loch, who made the first CD recording possible. Two further CDs followed. The private engagements began in 1989. Events for companies, cultural events, festivals, political parties and, over the years, concert tours with the Goethe Institute in 16 countries. Life remains colourful, new people join in, others leave, the line-up is constantly changing, the repertoire is constantly being renewed, copies spring up, agencies and event formats emerge and disappear.
